ACIBuilds.comSummary/Objective:The HVAC Installation Mechanic will perform skilled work in the installation of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems.Essential Functions:Installs commercial heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems including power wiring from load side of disconnect, control wiring, minor gas and condensate piping, refrigerant piping if needed, refrigerant recovery, duct and insulation, evacuation, charging, and test proceduresSketches transitions and other duct fittings required to complete assigned workRequisitions material and supplies from stockroom and vendorsPerforms brazing, soldering, pipefitting, and minor fabricationEstablishes plan to complete jobs on time and to meet/beat budget estimatesCoordinates activities of assigned craft workersInterprets specifications, blueprints, drawings, and job ordersWelds, solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, and bonds component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools, and equipmentInstalls systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings or work-sitesWorks within precise limits and standards of accuracy;Responsibility for high degree of attention required to prevent damage or wasteWorks closely with external and/or internal contacts to carry out responsibilitiesMaintains and cares for all Company assets including but not limited to tools, trucks, equipment, etc.Completes all necessary forms and paperwork as directedPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility: NoRequired:2 years of progressive HVAC operational experience in building systems, products and services (HVAC industry) or equivalent combination of vocational training and experienceExcellent initiative, interpersonal communications skills, and sense of urgencySpecialized knowledge to analyze and solve complex problemsMust possess or obtain personal hand toolsMust be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust be able to pass post-offer pre-employment drug screen, and may be required to satisfactorily complete additional background checks as required (i.e. DMV, criminal history)Must adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assignedThe work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:Work Environment:May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold and dampnessMay work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levelsMay be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dustMay be required to work in confined spaces or from high heightsPhysical Demands:This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power toolsWhile performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbsFrequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and armsMust be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focusTravel:May require travel Preferred:Journeyman card or Masters licenseExperience in a Commercial/Industrial work environmentUniversal CFC certificationPrior military experienceHS diploma or GED equivalent HVAC Service Installer Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, licensure, skills, and other relevant factorsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer
