Our organization is in search of a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to take on the role of Medical Director for our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program focused on behavioral health. The Medical Director will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, overseeing medical practices, and delivering direct psychiatric care to guarantee safe, effective, and compliant treatment.

We are a thriving multi-specialty group with over 600 clinicians, situated approximately two hours east of San Francisco, California. Our communities provide convenient access to the Bay Area and popular destinations such as Napa Valley, Yosemite, and Lake Tahoe.

Position Overview:

• Starting base salary: $340,000
• Clinical psychiatry: 0.8 FTE; Administrative: 0.2 FTE
• Sign-on bonus available
• Two-year salary guarantee
• RVU-based compensation model: Commencing in year 2
• RVU bonus potential: Available during the guarantee period
• Residency stipend offered

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for all PHP/IOP clinical services and the behavioral health department.
• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings to facilitate coordinated care.
• Participate in call coverage rotation as needed by the Behavioral Health department.
• Ensure therapeutic methods are in line with program objectives and evidence-based practices.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, create individualized treatment plans, and manage medication.
• Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers and other team members.
• Assist staff with clinical inquiries, case discussions, and treatment planning.
• Ensure adherence to state, federal, and accreditation standards.
• Participate in case conferences, treatment team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Oversee patient flow and compliance with safety and documentation standards.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system (Epic).
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, program managers, and other behavioral health professionals to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care.
• Promote a patient-centered, recovery-oriented approach to care.
• Work within a Behavioral Health department that includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Advanced Practice Clinicians.
