Mechanical Engineer

Overview We are seeking a Mechanical/Chemical Engineer to lead the design and development of a waste disposal facility within an existing building shell. This role requires strong technical expertise, environmental compliance knowledge, and the ability to act as a liaison between the U.S. Navy and multiple vendors. Location Location: Indian Head, Maryland (On-site 1 day per week) Base pay range $68.00/hr - $75.00/hr Responsibilities Design & Development Plan and design a waste disposal facility within an existing building structure. Ensure compliance with Tier 12 construction standards and environmental safety regulations. Implement combustion-based disposal methods for hazardous materials. Stakeholder Communication Serve as the primary point of contact between the Navy and vendors. Coordinate technical requirements, timelines, and compliance standards across all parties. Technical Oversight Review and approve industrial equipment designs and process layouts. Provide guidance on environmental safety and waste management best practices. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Chemical Engineering experience is a plus) Experience: 5+ years in chemical engineering Proven experience designing waste material processing facilities Familiarity with industrial equipment design review Skills: Strong understanding of environmental safety principles Ability to manage vendor relationships and communicate technical requirements effectively Knowledge of combustion-based disposal processes #J-18808-Ljbffr Insight Global
