Physician - Dermatologist

Dermatologist Community Health Centers of America is hiring for a Dermatologist to work in our family practice clinics and contracted long-term care facilities in the Sacramento, CA area. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating acute, episodic, or chronic skin, hair and nail conditions, creating treatment plans, and performing medical and cosmetic procedures, independently or as part of a healthcare team, in the clinic setting. Clinical Duties Obtain, analyze, and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses. Assess and diagnose patients' skin, hair, and nail conditions and ailments to determine appropriate treatment. Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions. Prescribe medications. Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions. Educate patients and families on available treatments and preventative care strategies. Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic testing relevant to dermatology. Conduct in-office procedures, which can include medical, surgical (e.g., Mohs surgery), and cosmetic treatments (e.g., Botox, lasers). Refer patients to specialists as needed. Perform follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care. Collaborate with primary care and specialty providers to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Provide consultative support to other providers in the clinic and affiliated facilities. Administrative Duties Maintain complete, accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings. Support the development of clinical protocols and patient education materials. Participate in teaching opportunities or case conferences, if applicable. Supervise or coordinate patient care or support staff activities. Maintain current knowledge of state legal regulations for practice. Keep abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems. Practice safe and healthy control methods while working with patients. Ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures. Additional Administrative Duties Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment. Follow facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol. Respect cultural and religious practices of minor patients. Uphold HIPAA regulations. Punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts. Completion of an ABD-accredited Dermatology fellowship. Board certified or board eligible in Dermatology. Active medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure in California. 3-5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of dermatology procedures and terminology. Current BLS/ACLS required. Current DEA required. Experience in a multi-specialty or FQHC setting preferred. In depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication. Active listening and active learning.
