We are looking for a motivated VP, Market Risk Manager - Fixed Income with 7+ years of experience managing risk in fixed income markets. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with trading desks and senior risk managers, contributing to the firm’s ability to identify, assess, and mitigate market risk. The ideal candidate will have experience analyzing and managing the risk of a broad range of fixed income products, with a particular emphasis on Agency RMBS and CMBS, but also including CRTs, non-agency RMBS and MBS, other ABS, and vanilla instruments such as Treasuries, interest rate swaps, and bond and rate futures and options. As part of the Market Risk department ability to contribute to the analysis of risk in other areas such as Equities, Corporate Credit, Commodities, and FX will also be a plus. Familiarity with Risk Metrics (or equivalent risk model) and Bloomberg and strong technical expertise in SQL and Excel will also be important.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor and analyze closing and real-time market risk exposures across various fixed income products.
• Partner with traders and senior risk managers to develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Design and prepare clear and concise reports on market risk metrics, presenting insights to senior management and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to internal risk policies and regulatory standards.
• Contribute to the training and development of more junior members of the market risk team.
• Support the continuous improvement of risk management frameworks, processes, and systems.
• Build, enhance, and maintain SQL-based tools and queries to support risk analytics and reporting.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Advanced degree (MBS) and/or CFA a big plus.
• 7+ years of experience in market risk management, with emphasis on fixed income, particularly in structured products.
• Expertise in market risk concepts such as VaR, interest curve risk, spread risk and prepayment risk.
• Deep knowledge of the broad range of financial instruments including agency backed structured products, MBS, ABS, Corporates, U.S. Treasuries, and Repo.
• Direct experience with Risk Metrics and Bloomberg is strongly preferred.
• Strong programming skills, particularly in SQL, for data analysis and reporting.
• This role requires excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis considering a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
