Our cloud-forward platform empowers public servants to serve their communities more effectively, and our team is driven by the belief that better technology leads to better government.The Technical Consultant - Database Admin assists in a wide range of technical activities supporting the implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of Caselle software products. This position serves as a technical resource throughout the implementation process and works with customers and internal teams to ensure software environments are properly installed, configured, secured, and prepared for successful use.Primary responsibilities include software installations, user and security setup, data transfers, software upgrade assistance, technical troubleshooting, and implementation environment management. The Technical Consultant works with both customer IT resources and internal Implementation, Support, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure implementation activities are completed accurately and on schedule.The position is also responsible for completing technical closeout activities for new-logo implementations, including creating and retaining appropriate backups of customer data at the conclusion of the implementation for company record-retention purposes.Software Installation, Configuration & Technical SupportInstall and configure Caselle software applications and supporting components for new and existing customersCoordinate software installations with customer IT personnel, System Consultants, Project Managers, and other Implementation resourcesVerify customer environments meet applicable technical requirements prior to software installation or upgradeConfigure and maintain software environments required throughout the implementation processAssist with workstation, server, application, database, and related configuration necessary for Caselle software operationTroubleshoot installation, configuration, connectivity, permissions, and application-related issuesServe as a technical problem-solving resource for customers and Implementation team members throughout implementation projectsWork with internal technical, Product, Support, and Engineering resources to resolve complex issues when escalation is necessaryUser Setup, Security & AccessAssist with the creation and configuration of customer users within Caselle software applicationsConfigure user access, application security, permissions, groups, and related settings based on customer requirementsSupport authentication and application access configuration as required by Caselle productsTroubleshoot user access, permissions, authentication, and security-related issues during implementationAssist customers and Implementation staff with file management, security, and other system-level functionality within the Caselle ERP solutionData Transfers & Implementation SupportPerform and assist with the secure transfer of customer data required for software implementations, conversions, testing, and other project activitiesCoordinate data transfers between customers, Implementation resources, and other authorized internal teamsVerify transferred data is received, stored, and available in the appropriate location for implementation activitiesAssist System Consultants and conversion resources with loading, moving, restoring, or otherwise managing customer databases and implementation dataTroubleshoot technical issues associated with data transfers, database restores, file access, and related implementation processesFollow established security and data-handling procedures when receiving, transferring, storing, or accessing customer informationSoftware UpgradesAssist customers and internal teams with Caselle software upgrades and related technical activitiesReview customer environments and applicable technical requirements in preparation for software upgradesCoordinate upgrade activities with customer IT resources, Support, Implementation, Product, and other internal teams as necessaryPerform or assist with software updates, database updates, application installations, and other components of the upgrade processAssist with pre-upgrade preparation, including verification of appropriate system and data backupsTroubleshoot technical issues identified during or following an upgrade and document activities, issues, and resolutionsNew-Logo Implementation Closeout & Data RetentionComplete technical closeout procedures at the conclusion of each new-logo implementationCreate or obtain a final backup of the customer's implemented Caselle data following completion of the implementationVerify that required backup files are complete and accessible prior to archivingStore implementation backups in the designated company location according to established file-naming, security, and record-retention proceduresMaintain appropriate documentation identifying the customer, implementation completion date, backup date, and location of retained dataCoordinate with Implementation leadership, IT, and other applicable teams regarding the long-term retention or archival of completed implementation dataInternal Collaboration & Process ImprovementCollaborate with System Consultants, Project Managers, Support, Product, Engineering, and other technical resources to support successful customer implementationsServe as a liaison between customer IT personnel and internal technical teams when technical coordination is requiredEducate Implementation and Support staff on technical processes with the goal of improving issue resolution and the overall customer experienceDevelop and maintain internal documentation related to installations, user setup, data transfers, upgrades, backups, and other technical implementation processesIdentify opportunities to improve, standardize, and document technical implementation proceduresMaintain accurate records of technical work completed for customer projectsWhat We're Looking ForRequired2+ years of experience in technically related support activities for both customers and back-end systemsExperience installing, configuring, maintaining, or supporting business software applicationsExperience working with Windows Server and workstation operating systemsExperience with software installation, system administration, application configuration, and troubleshootingExperience working with databases, data transfers, backups, restores, or similar data-management activitiesUnderstanding of user administration, permissions, security groups, and application security conceptsAbility to troubleshoot technical issues involving applications, databases, connectivity, permissions, and system configurationKnowledge of Windows-based software environments and general system administration conceptsStrong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and customer service skillsDetail-oriented with an emphasis on accuracy when working with customer data, software configurations, security, and backupsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Systems, or related field (or 3+ years direct work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience)PreferredExperience assisting with software upgrades or application version changesExperience implementing security and data-handling practices appropriate for enterprise or government softwareAdvanced experience with Caselle applications or similar enterprise software applicationsExperience with database management,
