Overview Microelectronics Reliability Lab Support Engineer – Booz Allen Booz Allen’s mission is to empower people to change the world. As a Lab Support Engineer, you will work with industry-leading engineers in world‑class research facilities to support critical government research and development programs related to microelectronics design and verification. Your work will impact national security investment through the new development of military applications for cutting‑edge technologies. Responsibilities • Work with a team of engineers, scientists, and researchers to test, evaluate, and integrate next‑generation microelectronic designs critical to national interests.

• Assist colleagues and clients in developing test benches to evaluate the performance of in‑house and commercial test articles and build test setups independently using functional and parametric testing techniques.
• Operate DC, RF, and optical test systems, manage reliability test setups, and develop innovative testing strategies.
• Conduct reliability assessments, degradation analysis, and lifetime modeling for a wide range of semiconductor devices, including digital, analog, and RF components.
• Provide technical management support and strategic assessments for new technologies to assist senior DoD decision‑makers, including background research and feasibility evaluation.
• Produce and present findings and recommendations, assist with technical program management and program development, and brief materials for government research and development efforts.

Qualifications Experience developing and executing test plans and reports to document lab testing results. Experience with semiconductor electronics testing in a laboratory environment. Proficiency with benchtop equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and microscopes. Ability to design, build, and operate test setups using functional and parametric techniques. Experience with MATLAB, Python, or a scripting language for data analysis. Experience preparing and delivering technical briefings and reports to government stakeholders. Ability to work independently on small projects and collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electro‑Mechanical, Electronics Engineering, or Engineering Technology. Nice to Have Experience conducting reliability assessments, degradation analysis, or lifetime modeling of microelectronic devices. Familiarity with wafer‑level or device‑level testing, including RF characterization with a network analyzer. Experience with physical and electrical failure analysis techniques (thermal imaging, X‑ray, electroluminescence, SEM). Experience supporting technical program management, research, or strategic assessments. Leadership experience of small technical teams or lab activities. Knowledge of compound semiconductor physics and degradation mechanisms. Knowledge of Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and lab systems such as National Instruments or Keysight. Knowledge of industry standards such as JEDEC, MIL‑STD, or AEC reliability practices. Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Compensation The projected compensation range is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by factors including location, education, skills, and contract requirements.
