Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry / Neuroscience RN – North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Contract duration up to 20+ weeks with hard stop February 27, 2027. Flexible scheduling with ability to extend through the holiday season.

Highlights:

• Primary focus on stroke patients and neuroscience diagnoses including epilepsy, subdural hematomas, traumatic brain injury, and neurosurgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6 in a progressive 55-bed neuroscience unit with daily census of approximately 50 patients
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• 36 hours of comprehensive unit orientation to support your success
• Interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more
• Opportunity to work with advanced neuroscience patient population including a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years total nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience mandatory – first-time travelers will not be considered; must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• ACLS certification preferred but not required
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
• Experience with neuroscience patient populations strongly preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must be willing to float to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry areas as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
