Senior Home Loan Underwriter

Providing mentorship and analyzing home loan lending decisions, the full-time Senior Home Loan Underwriter will work remotely, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and supporting the underwriting team while meeting production goals. Key responsibilities Analyze and render lending decisions based on home loan underwriting guidelines and regulatory standards Review and validate borrower documentation to determine eligibility and repayment ability Mentor and support loan officers and other underwriters, contributing to team projects and initiatives Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or related field preferred Minimum of five years of independent mortgage underwriting experience required Preferred certifications include MBA Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) and FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) Experience with loan origination software and AUS systems required; knowledge of Encompass preferred Strong understanding of compliance policies and procedures related to mortgage underwriting
