Job Description: This is a grant-funded, non-tenure track position through 05/31/2027. Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment. Work Location: Macon Ridge Research Station, Winnsboro, LA Position Description: The individual will be expected to perform a variety of duties as a research associate for the senior scientist conducting plant pathology research with agronomic crops at the Macon Ridge Research Station. These duties include supervision of student employees; conducting basic science laboratory techniques; collecting and computerizing research data; and managing research projects. Current projects would require the successful applicant to cooperate with various personnel of the Macon Ridge Research Station and related units in joint tasks when deemed necessary. Qualification Requirements : A minimum of a bachelor's degree in plant Pathology, Plant Science, General Agriculture or other agriculture related fields of study is preferred. A master's degree is desired. Applicants with a degree in another agricultural or basic science field will be considered qualifying provided they possess significant work experience in a plant science area. LSU and the AgCenter are dedicated to fostering an environment where our employees feel appreciated for their skills and individual qualifications. If a candidate does not meet the minimum qualifications listed but has other qualifications or substantial experience related to the key responsibilities, we encourage them to apply (La RS 42:36).
