Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. 15-week contract starting 10/19/2026 with a weekly pay range of $1,992 to $2,004. Shift is 12-hour nights (3x12), with approximately 36 hours scheduled per week after orientation; there is no guaranteed minimum. You’ll work in a hospital setting, floating to multiple medical and surgical units as needed. Orientation is provided for each unit, and you must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health requirements.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, under physician orders
- Monitor patient status, administer medications and IV therapies, and manage routine treatments
- Perform comprehensive assessments and document findings in the electronic medical record (Meditech)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement and adjust care plans; respond to changes in patient conditions
- Maintain safe medication administration via Pyxis, wound care management, and chest tube or wound vac care as needed
- Float to assigned units as needed while maintaining competency across units and adhering to infection control and safety standards

Requirements
- Hawaii Registered Nurse license (active) by start date
- BLS certification; ACLS certification required (or must be obtained per policy) with preferred additional credentials (PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC)
- 2–10 years of RN Med Surg experience
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN) and current Hawaii RN licensure
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and to float to multiple units as assigned
- Must arrive the Thursday before start to complete employee health requirements
