Job Information Position: Full‑time IT Specialist (infosec) (NH‑2210‑03) – Information System Security Manager (ISSM) Agency: Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Facility: 72 ABW, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Salary Range: $89,508 – $138,370 annually (inclusive of locality adjustments) Posting Dates: Open 6/1/2026 – Close 6/10/2026 Eligibility This position is exclusively open to current Dept of War (DoW) federal employees. Applicants must submit their most recent SF‑50 to verify eligibility and will be considered incomplete without it. Primary Purpose Serve as the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) responsible for maintaining situational awareness and initiating actions for the NIPRNet and SIPRNet to improve or restore the cybersecurity posture, and to conduct annual security reviews of IA controls. Responsibilities Maintain situational awareness and initiate actions for the non‑secure and secure internet protocol router networks (NIPRNet & SIPRNet) to improve or restore cybersecurity posture. Conduct annual security reviews of IA controls. Oversee network information protection operations, maintenance, planning, programming, budgeting, policy development/enforcement, boundary protection, intrusion detection, and vulnerability management. Serve as a technical authority on information processing standards in complex and difficult assignments. Requirements Designated drug‑testing position. Obtain and maintain a security clearance. May be required to travel to perform temporary duty. May have extended or other than normal duty hours. Expert knowledge of DOD, DAF, and agency policies, procedures, regulations, directives, and requirements related to cybersecurity and information technology. Cyberspace qualification is a condition of employment. The role requires foundational qualifications within 9 months of assignment and residential qualifications within 12 months, per DoDM 8140.03. An extension waiver of up to six months may be granted. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of IT assessment, planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation, and of tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing IT projects, monitoring contractor performance, and evaluating costs. Knowledge of coordinated management of IT programs, including oversight of multiple IT projects, integration of schedules and deliverables, and life‑cycle management and program governance. Knowledge of principles and methods to identify, analyze, specify, design, and manage functional and infrastructure requirements; translate functional requirements into technical requirements for logical design or alternative technologies. Knowledge of concepts, practices, and techniques for engaging, influencing, and monitoring relationships with stakeholders in IT work/development efforts; ability to work effectively with customers to assess their requirements and provide expertise and assistance.
