Senior FOIA Paralegal

Senior FOIA Paralegal - Full Time, Mid-Level Department: Legal CGS is seeking a Senior FOIA Paralegal to support the legal mission of a large federal agency, performing FOIA request processing and litigation support tasks. Salary: $65,357.76 - $94,405.65 a year. Responsibilities Conduct searches and analyze result sets to separate non‑responsive documents from responsive documents and screen responsive documents for privilege or FOIA exemptions. Redact and code responsive documents. Perform legal research. Draft legal documents. Qualifications Paralegal certificate, JD, or enrollment in an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study. At least one year of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience is an advantage. Experience with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, or other eDiscovery and document review tools. Experience processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Demonstrated knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations and the application of exemptions. Basic legal knowledge, including standard legal citation and competence with LEXIS and Westlaw. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with computer applications such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems. Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures. Ability to consistently deliver high‑quality work under pressure. Proficiency in English reading, writing, speaking, and understanding. Ability to work independently. Ability to obtain a government security clearance. Preferred Two years experience using Nuix Investigate for document review and tagging. Two years experience processing FOIA requests for federal agencies. Fluency with statutory and regulatory guidelines to FOIA responses.
