FULL DESCRIPTION:   We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support conformal coating, potting, masking, inspection, and general PCB contract manufacturing activities. This temp-to-hire role is responsible for applying conformal coating to PCBAs, masking components, inspecting coated boards, operating coating and curing equipment, completing production documentation, and following safety procedures when working around chemicals, solvents, and epoxy materials. The ideal candidate will have previous painting, coating, electronics assembly, manufacturing, or chemical-handling experience, strong attention to detail, reliable attendance, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a production environment.

 

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Applying conformal coating to PCBAs using manual, semi-automated, or automated equipment
• Using spray, dip, or brush methods to apply coating as instructed
• Masking components and connectors prior to coating according to work instructions
• Inspecting coated boards for proper coverage, thickness, and defects
• Checking for bubbles, pinholes, runs, and other coating issues
• Operating coating and curing equipment safely
• Performing basic maintenance on coating and curing equipment as needed
• Curing coated assemblies using UV, oven, or air-dry methods according to specifications
• Supporting potting work using 2-part epoxy materials
• Reading and following work instructions, engineering drawings, and production requirements
• Following IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards as applicable
• Completing production paperwork accurately
• Entering data into tracking systems, including quantities, lot numbers, and inspection results
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Following 5S practices and production floor expectations
• Following all safety procedures, including proper PPE use and chemical or solvent handling procedures
• Communicating issues, defects, or process concerns to the supervisor or engineering team
• Supporting general manufacturing and production activities as needed
• Performing other duties as assigned

 

The selected candidate will also possess:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous painting experience preferred
• Experience working around chemicals, solvents, coatings, or epoxy materials preferred
• General manufacturing experience preferred
• Conformal coating spray experience preferred
• Electronics assembly, PCB assembly, or PCBA manufacturing experience preferred
• Cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment experience preferred
• Soldering experience preferred
• Familiarity with IPC standards preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks
• Strong attention to detail required
• Strong hand-eye coordination required
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions required
• Basic computer skills required
• Data entry experience preferred
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required
• Strong work ethic required
• Ability to work around chemical fumes or solvents in a ventilated environment
• Ability to wear PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and respirator if required
• Ability to work onsite in Vista, CA
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Ability to support a temp-to-hire opportunity

 

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and reach for most of the shift
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements while coating, masking, inspecting, and handling PCB assemblies
• Ability to use hands and fingers for masking, spraying, brushing, dipping, inspection, documentation, data entry, and standard manufacturing tasks
• Ability to review work instructions, engineering drawings, lot information, inspection results, production paperwork, and computer screens as needed
• Ability to work with PCBAs, coatings, solvents, chemicals, epoxy materials, coating equipment, curing equipment, and related production materials
• Ability to work around chemical fumes and solvents in a ventilated environment
• Ability to wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, and respirator if required
• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, and move throughout manufacturing areas as needed
• Ability to maintain accuracy, safety, and attention to detail in a production environment

 

Salary Range: $17 to $18/hour
