Responsibilities

• Provide education surrounding respiratory therapy topics provided to nursing team on a quarterly basis
• Perform monthly audit of a minimum of twelve respiratory therapy orders to include a review of the order and its effectiveness
• Conduct an ongoing review of order sets/protocols that involve respiratory therapy orders
• Review all RT policies and procedures annually
• Be the subject matter expert related to respiratory therapy needs within the hospital and work directly with the leadership team with any initiatives related to RT services
• Assess RT equipment and make recommendations related to any new respiratory equipment brought into the facility
• Familiarity and compliance with hospital's accreditation standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Demonstrated professional experience of providing education and the capability to be the RT subject matter expert
• Active RRT license
• Ability to provide clinical patient care within licensed scope of practice
• BLS certification
