Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Behavioral Health - Psych unit provides direct patient care and support under the supervision of nursing staff. This role includes assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and performing delegated clinical tasks. The CNA may also work as a sitter on the Medical-Surgical unit, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential to support patient care in both behavioral health and medical-surgical settings. Responsibilities:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, mobility, and feeding.
• Monitor and document patient behavior and report changes to nursing staff.
• Provide sitter services on the Medical-Surgical unit as needed to ensure patient safety.
• Support nursing staff with clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with treatments.
• Maintain a safe and clean patient environment.
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred in behavioral health or similar setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Experience working on Medical-Surgical units or with sitter responsibilities.
• Familiarity with behavioral health patient care protocols and safety procedures.

• May be assigned to both Behavioral Health - Psych unit and Medical-Surgical unit as a sitter.
• Work may involve exposure to patients with behavioral health challenges requiring patience and vigilance.
• Compliance with facility policies and safety standards is mandatory.

• Combination of 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week.
• Shifts may include days and/or nights.
