Apply now Job no: 510349 Position type: Full-Time 12‑Month Department: 313200 - Meridian Campus Location: Meridian Campus - Meridian, MS Categories: Professional Position Open Date: Mar 30 2026 Position Function The Inventory & Property Control Manager serves as the contact for all property control, fleet management, physical security, key and card access management, and all shipping/receiving functions for MSU Meridian. Inventory Serve as department liaison to MSU Property Control. Provide direct oversight of MSU Meridian’s property control management. Ensure accurate and timely submission of acquisitions, disposals, and transfers of property. Coordinate all equipment trade‑ins to ensure proper accounting of property. File police reports for any lost/stolen equipment as needed. Responsible for the coordination of all property audits to ensure compliance with state, federal, and university regulations. Use Banner to ensure accountability, accuracy, and balance of funds designated as inventory expenditures. Maintain property database with all inventory items and history. Manage property control from receipt of item to distribution to disposal. Explore better methods of inventory control. Fleet Management Serve as Fleet Administrator. Ensure proper care and upkeep of fleet. Manage fuel PIN maintenance through MSU Transportation and Fuelman by issuing and revoking access for employees as needed. Maintain maintenance and fuel records and supporting data entry in the MSU Property Control database system in a timely manner. Coordinate purchase of new vehicles for MSU Meridian, including ensuring compliance with purchase regulations, gathering quotes, processing orders, affixing proper MSU identification to vehicle, and all other fleet and inventory related duties. Maintain employee information for use with inventory, fleet management, keys, card access, alarm control, and phone lists. Physical Security Function as Key Control Manager. Work with the university Key Shop to ensure proper designation of keys to new spaces. Issue and maintain database records of all keys. Maintain access control for all spaces, granting and revoking access as needed. Responsible for confidential alarm code maintenance. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field and Experience (yrs.) 3–5 years Substitutions allowed: Any combination of education and experience approved by HRM. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, and Word). Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Meets time sensitive task and project deadlines. Ability to concentrate for long periods of time. Possess supervisory experience. Self‑motivated and pays attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Working Conditions and Physical Effort Limited physical effort required. Ability to work effectively with a wide range of co‑workers, administrators, outside departments, and vendors.
