Strategic Sourcing Category Manager

: As the Marketing Sourcing Category Manager, you'll optimize the total cost of ownership and increase total value of our spend on products and services within one your assigned categories. You will not have any direct reports initially, but you may in the future. You'll develop category and sourcing strategies, sourcing execution, negotiations, contracting activities and relationship management across a subset of marketing sub-categories. The initial sub-categories envisioned for this role may include creative, production or media. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. What you'll do

• Participate in the development of category goals and deliver against set objectives
• Create end-to-end efficiencies and value proposition across multiple stakeholders, business objectives and suppliers
• Lead business partners in defining requirements for their needs
• Negotiate and execute contracts in line with Best Buy policies, and act as an escalation point for direct reports
• Leverage and influence relationships to gain input and/or buy-in for critical business decisions, and category strategies
• Set clear personal goals for self and direct reports, if applicable, as a key part of managing performance to drive business outcomes

Basic qualifications

• 3 years of experience in strategic sourcing or commensurate experience
• 1 year of creative, media or production marketing experience

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's or MBA degrees
• 1 year of supervisory leadership experience
• 2 years of agency management or agency experience
• 2 year of creative, media or production marketing sourcing experience
• Possess natural curiosity, asking questions when necessary to understand a problem
• Organized and able to effectively manage several responsibilities at once
• Ability to create and execute a strategic vision
• Ability to build and sustain an engaged, diverse, highly skilled team and to oversee performance and development
