Associate Veterinarian

Introduction
An established AAHA-accredited veterinary hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join its team on either a full-time or part-time basis. Providing comprehensive veterinary care for small and companion animals, the hospital combines General Practice medicine with advanced diagnostic, medical, dental and surgical capabilities. Applications are welcomed from both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with dedicated mentorship available to support doctors at the beginning of their careers and continued professional development available for veterinarians at all experience levels.

Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of General Practice responsibilities, including wellness and preventive care, diagnostic investigation, treatment planning, dentistry, surgery and ongoing medical management. The successful veterinarian will take responsibility for their own cases, developing appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans and maintaining high standards of patient care throughout treatment. Responsibilities include developing long-term client relationships, clearly communicating clinical findings and recommendations, and educating owners to support informed decision-making. The Associate Veterinarian will work collaboratively with the wider veterinary and support team, with dedicated mentorship available for new graduates and opportunities for continuing education, clinical studies and ongoing professional development for doctors throughout their careers.

Practice Details
The hospital provides a full scope of GP services, alongside Internal Medicine, Advanced Dentistry, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Soft Tissue Surgery, Laser Surgery, Cold Laser Therapy and Pain Management. Equipment and clinical capabilities available include, but are not limited to, a Surgical Laser, Therapeutic Laser, Digital Radiography, Digital Dental Radiography, Ultrasound, iCare TonoVet Plus Tonometer and advanced surgical monitoring equipment, with the hospital's key medical equipment upgraded in 2023. The hospital also has an In-Office Surgical Suite, In-House Pharmacy, hospitalization facilities and an Isolation Ward, supporting the management of a broad range of medical and surgical cases. The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Team
The hospital has an established two-veterinarian team, supported by Licensed Veterinary Technicians and a dedicated group of veterinary support professionals. The veterinary team provides considerable continuity and experience, with the Medical Director having worked with the hospital for more than 10 years and the other veterinarian having been part of the team for more than 30 years. This established clinical experience provides a strong foundation for mentorship and collaborative case management, particularly for new graduates developing their confidence and clinical skills. Experienced veterinarians are equally supported in continuing to develop their individual clinical interests through access to continuing education, professional development and the hospital's wider clinical resources.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
