Primary Responsibility:
To work alongside the welding team at QuikCut; welding on a wide variety of products. To meet high expectations and standards set by QuikCut, and providing quality work while completing welding projects in an efficient amount of time.
Major Responsibilities:
- Be able to efficiently read blueprints and drawings.
- Be able to read and take measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment and method needed for the project at hand based on specifications listed by the client.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications.
- Operate grinders to prepare each part that must be welded.
- Align components using calipers, rulers, heigh gauges, protractors, squares, clamps and other measurement tools necessary.
- Weld components using MIG or TIG welding whichever is called for depending on the project being completed.
- Weld in various positions: vertical, horizontal or overhead
- Repair projects or other components by welding pieces together or filling gaps.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to establish and repair any flaws or defects left from the welding.
- Keep all welding equipment in a condition that would not disregard QuikCuts safety policies.
- Be able to lift anything from 10 pounds to 50 pounds. Anything over 50 pounds will be lifted assisted by a forklift, crane or magnets.
