Measures and records vital signs and medical histories for patients. Obtains laboratory samples; Driving for specimen delivery as a backup only. Performs data entry of health records. Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms following patient examinations. Assists with patient appointments and answer phone calls. Ensures exam rooms are appropriately stocks with needed medical supplies. Secures patient information by completing and safeguarding medical records; Keeps patient information confidential. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED. Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant. 1 year job related experience working in a clinical setting. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills, ability to deal effectively with the public and other employees. May required working during the weekends and after hours based on the needs of the department. STARTING SALARY RANGE: $18.31 - $22.89 hourly based on qualifications CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
