Accuracy and basic math skills are important, as someone in this position will be handling payments in the form of cash and providing change. Knowledge of restaurant products is essential, as the cashier will be responsible for assisting our customers with questions and suggestions. Cashiers will also be responsible for keeping work area neat and tidy, restocking and preparing items as needed, and cleaning lobby and dining areas.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Greeting and acknowledging every customerProviding excellent customer service by being fast, patient, attentive, and using clear and positive communicationMaintaining thorough knowledge of productsUpselling when appropriate or requested by managementAccurately and efficiently completing all sales transactionsMaintaining proper cash and media accountabilities at POS registersEnsuring cash drawer is balanced at the end of shiftCalling out customers' orders when they have been completedKeeping work area neat and clean, restocking items as needed, and cleaning lobby and dining areasPreparing food and beverage items as neededInventorying supplies and goodsHandling customer concerns and finding a solution or when appropriate bringing in a managerCommunicating customers' requests to managementTroubleshooting POS problemsPerforming other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)• 1-2 years prior cashier experience in a fast-paced environment preferred• Ability to handle stress under pressure• Basic math and calculation skills• Basic knowledge of POS systems• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a teamPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
