Registered Nurse - Rehabilitation

Job Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care for patients with cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, amputations, spinal cord injuries, and neurological conditions within a short-term acute rehab unit. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring optimal recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor medications, treatments, and therapies tailored to neurological and traumatic injury patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to create and adjust patient care plans.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and document patient progress accurately in the electronic health records.
• Educate patients and families on recovery processes, care routines, and rehabilitation objectives.
• Maintain compliance with safety protocols, infection control policies, and certification requirements.
• Float within scope to various units as needed to support facility operations.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active WV or Compact RN license; pending licenses accepted for submission.
• Possess at least 2 years of RN experience with a minimum of 1 year in a specialty setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency in acute care and rehabilitation nursing, with charge nurse experience preferred.
• Maintain current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Be able to work 3 or 4 night shifts per week, including every other weekend.
• Exhibit strong collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills.
