Job Title: Welder Job Description

This role focuses on performing high-quality welding and fabrication work using MIG and Stick processes in an industrial environment. You will interpret blueprints, support production needs, and contribute to maintaining equipment and facility standards while ensuring safe and efficient operations.

• Perform MIG welding on various materials, including stainless steel, to meet production and quality standards.
• Perform Stick welding on assigned components and structures, ensuring strong and clean welds.
• Carry out fabrication tasks such as measuring, cutting, fitting, and assembling metal parts according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding diagrams to determine requirements and plan work effectively.
• Use grinding tools to clean, finish, and prepare welds and metal surfaces.
• Support the production line when needed by assisting with welding-related tasks and other operations to keep workflow moving smoothly.
• Assist with facility maintenance tasks as assigned, including basic electrical-related work within scope of experience and safety guidelines.
• Inspect completed welds and fabricated components for accuracy, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety procedures and using appropriate protective equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues affecting quality or throughput.

• Proficiency in MIG welding, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting of MIG welding equipment.
• Proficiency in Stick welding, with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds.
• Experience with metal fabrication processes such as cutting, fitting, and assembling components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding diagrams accurately.
• Skill in grinding and finishing welds and metal surfaces to required standards.
• Experience working with stainless steel and other common industrial metals.
• Ability to support production operations and adapt to changing workflow needs.
• Basic understanding of facility maintenance practices in an industrial setting.
• Awareness of electrical considerations in an industrial environment and ability to work safely around related equipment within scope of responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to assist the production team and support the production line when additional help is needed.
• Ability to work effectively in a hot industrial environment and remain focused on safety and quality.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with production and maintenance personnel.
• Reliability and flexibility to handle varied tasks as required by daily operations.

This position is based in an industrial machinery environment that can be hot and physically demanding. You will work around welding equipment, grinders, and other fabrication tools, as well as production and facility maintenance areas. The role involves standing for extended periods, handling metal components, and working near active machinery. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required to ensure safety while performing welding, grinding, and related tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downey, CA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Downey,CA.
