Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners by providing essential support in an onsite Special Education setting. This contract opportunity offers a full-time position working with Early Childhood and Elementary students in intensive skills classrooms, particularly those within the autism spectrum. You will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals, all committed to fostering growth and independence for students with unique learning needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Kansas Special Education Teacher License required
- Previous teaching experience in Special Education, especially with early childhood or elementary students
- Deep understanding of intensive skills instruction and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Experience supporting students on the autism spectrum is highly preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional strategies tailored to student needs
- Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver lessons and interventions
- Manage and direct classroom aides and support staff
- Regularly assess student progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records
- Communicate proactively with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Contribute to IEP meetings and collaborate on student goal-setting
- Create a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
- Adapt materials and approaches to facilitate learning and growth
