Staff Accountant

PSLS is currently seeking a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller and assist with and support the organization's accounting functions. The role requires a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to multitask. The principal duties of this position are performed in a general office environment.

Responsibilities
Among other duties assigned, the Staff Accountant will:

• Prepare monthly reconciliations between the donor database and the general ledger systems
• Provide support as needed to various accounting functions, including AP, AR, GL
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and accounting reconciliations
• Assist with supporting schedules for annual budget process
• Assist with supporting schedules for annual audit
• Assist with Form 990 preparation and submission
• Assist with month-end and year-end journal entries
• Prepare bank resolutions for submission to the board
• Assist with the tracking of revenue from all organizational resources
• Review monthly office reconciliations for trust and litigation checking accounts
• Administer administrative IOLTA account

Salary and Benefits
The Staff Accountant position is full-time, at 37.5 hours per week. PSLS offers a salary competitive with similar organizations. The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $84,067 annually. The starting salary for the successful candidate will be determined based on prior relevant experience. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or 5 years of relevant experience required
• Strong computer competency is essential, specifically Excel experience and a familiarity with Google Suite
• Excellent analytical skills and sound understanding of accounting principles
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of organization, time management, and to meet deadlines consistently
• Strong oral/written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as a team member
• Some travel is necessary; valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation is required
• We will give preference to candidates who have experience providing services to low-income individuals
