Mika Line Cook Opportunity
Mika is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team in Coral Gables. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment. Line Cooks at Mika play a key role in executing our menu with consistency, creativity, and respect for ingredients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to Mika's recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines
- Set up and stock assigned stations with necessary supplies and ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of workstations at all times
- Follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Communicate effectively with chefs and fellow kitchen staff during service
- Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, and basic cooking tasks
- Monitor food quality and freshness, minimizing waste
- Support other stations and kitchen duties as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous line cook experience preferred (high-volume or upscale dining a plus)
- Strong knife skills and basic cooking techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and take direction from kitchen leadership
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
