Staff Accountant

Location: In Person

Salary: Starting at $55,000 per year

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team and support the accounting needs of homeowner and condominium associations . This role requires strong accounting skills, with a particular emphasis on accrual accounting, general ledger management, journal entries, and monthly financial reporting .

Experienced candidates are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage high-volume accounting activities, including general ledger, journal entries, and monthly financial statements.

• Prepare and maintain monthly financials using accrual-based accounting principles.

• Post assessments, capital contributions, and other fees accurately.

• Prepare monthly invoices and statements.

• Post interest and late fees to delinquent accounts and assist with soft collections.

• Ensure all payments are posted accurately and timely.

• Process vendor payments and prepare checks.

• Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

• Reconcile monthly vendor statements and related transactions.

• Verify vendor documentation, including Certificates of Liability Insurance and W-9 forms.

• Maintain and monitor prepaid schedules and accounts payable.

• Assist auditors by providing required documentation, reports, and adjustments.

• Maintain accurate and confidential financial records and information.

• Provide general administrative and customer service support as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting experience.

• Previous experience in accounting, preferably supporting homeowner or condominium associations .

• Strong knowledge of accrual accounting and monthly financial statement preparation.

• Experience with general ledger accounting, accounts payable, reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent data entry and computer skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel .

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to analyze financial information and resolve discrepancies.

• Strong vendor relationship and communication skills.

• Excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to handle high-volume work while meeting deadlines.

• CINC and Avid Strongroom experience is a plus.
