Boston, MA | Durham, NC | Westlake, TX Software Engineering Assessment Requirement As part of Fidelity's hiring process, selected applicants will be required to complete a skills assessment to demonstrate foundational software engineering skills in either Java or Python. The assessment must be completed before candidates can progress to the interview stage. The Fidelity Intern Program (FIDTERN Program) Fidelity's full-time, paid, 10-week internship program offers students the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, real-world work and projects as valued members of a dedicated team. Program Highlights Professional & Financial Development Sessions Mentorship Regional Events Learn by Building AI-Native Development The Role We're looking for curious, driven software engineering interns who want to design, build, and deliver technology solutions that help customers achieve their financial goals. Build software applications and features using modern programming languages, databases, APIs, and front-end technologies while contributing to active business initiatives. Work on real projects across the full software development lifecycle including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support. Write, test, debug, and deliver code while leveraging modern development tools, automation, and CI/CD practices. Collaborate with engineers, analysts, product teams, and business partners to solve complex technical challenges. Explore innovative technologies, including AI tools, and learn how to apply them responsibly. Develop technical, professional, and interpersonal skills while working alongside experienced technologists. Technical Exposure May Include Programming Languages: Java, Python, C/C++, JavaScript Software Engineering Fundamentals: OOP, Data Structures, Algorithms Front-End Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React Back-End Technologies: APIs, Microservices, Integration Technologies Databases: MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Modern Engineering Practices: Automated Testing, CI/CD, Agile Development, AI-Assisted Development Tools The Expertise and Skills You Bring Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Understanding of programming fundamentals, object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures. Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills. Demonstrated interest in software development through coursework, technical projects, research, or internships. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Curiosity, adaptability, and a passion for learning new technologies. Current undergraduate student who will return to coursework following the internship. Availability for the entire 10-week internship program. The base salary range for this position is $28 - $42 per hour.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
