Applications Architect - Finance

Job Description:The Technical Application Architect serves as the primary liaison between Finance, Accounting, SAP, and IT teams, ensuring alignment across business processes, applications, and technology initiatives. This role leads cross-functional coordination for application portfolios, supports new system implementations, manages vendor relationships and technology investments, and drives process improvements across integrated platforms. Acting as a trusted partner to business and technical stakeholders, the Technical Application Architect facilitates collaboration across teams, identifies integration opportunities, aligns solutions with enterprise architecture standards, and promotes adoption of emerging technologies and best practices. Key Responsibilities  Serve as the primary technology partner for Finance, Accounting, Procurement, SAP, and IT stakeholders. Own the application portfolio roadmap and align technology investments with business strategy. Lead demand intake, backlog prioritization, and cross-team delivery planning. Support application implementations, enhancements, and transformation initiatives in partnership with the IT PMO. Facilitate cross-functional discussions to define requirements, resolve issues, and drive stakeholder alignment. Oversee application integrations, data flows, and dependencies across enterprise systems. Partner with Enterprise Architects, SAP teams, and developers to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards. Manage relationships with software vendors, AMS providers, and implementation partners. Support application budgets, contract negotiations, renewals, licensing, and cost optimization efforts. Identify opportunities to improve business processes, automate workflows, and increase operational efficiency. Support governance, risk management, compliance, and audit requirements related to enterprise applications. Research emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve business outcomes and platform capabilities. Required Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5–7 years of experience as a Technical Business Systems Analyst or enterprise applications delivery  Hands-on experience supporting Procurement processes in multiple ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA included) Strong experience gathering and aligning requirements across multiple teams Preferred Experience with SAP S/4HANA (FI-AP) Experience with SAP Ariba (procurement and supplier lifecycle integration) Experience working with multiple ERP systems and participating in ERP implementations or migrations (including S/4HANA transformations) Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools for backlog and delivery management Exposure to implementing invoice automation tools and workflow platforms Experience supporting large-scale transformation programs Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strategic ownership of Finance applications SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, Workiva, BlackLine Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Audit, and IT alignment Roadmap and demand management AMS/vendor coordination Governance and prioritization Cross-functional delivery leadership Key Skills & Competencies  Enterprise systems thinking  Cross-functional stakeholder alignment  Integration and data flow analysis  Strong communication and facilitation skills  Problem-solving across complex system landscapes  Driving delivery and execution across multiple teams and systems  SummaryLocation: Tulsa, OKType: Full time
