This role offers the opportunity to grow from handling straightforward environmental matters to leading complex programs and projects, depending on experience and level.Responsibilities/ExpectationsDevelop, maintain, and provide guidance on environmental policies, processes, and compliance programsAssess environmental risks, recommend corrective actions, and support implementation of approved solutions, including required regulatory documentationPrepare and submit environmental permits, renewals, approvals, variances, and other regulatory authorizations while coordinating with internal stakeholdersSupport or lead environmental project planning and execution, including scheduling, cost estimating, impact assessments, and reportingPrepare compliance reports, certifications, environmental plans, inventories, and supporting documentationConduct environmental training and provide technical guidance to company personnelResearch and interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations to ensure compliancePerform or support environmental compliance audits, due diligence investigations, and remediation activities as neededDevelop and implement improvements to environmental systems and practices related to air, water, waste, and remediation managementBuild and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies and other stakeholdersMentor and guide less experienced personnel (Environmental Specialist IV)Other duties as assignedEducation/Years of ExperienceEnvironmental Specialist II: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2) years of environmental experienceEnvironmental Specialist III: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four (4) years of environmental experienceEnvironmental Specialist IV: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of environmental experienceOther RequirementsDemonstrated commitment to safety as a core valueStrong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and standard PC softwarePreferred QualificationsExperience with environmental permitting, compliance auditing, and regulatory reportingKnowledge of air quality, water quality, waste management, remediation, or related environmental programsExperience working with federal, state, or local regulatory agencies#LI-AB1Why Houston?
