About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established, family-owned distributor in the industrial packaging space, known for a stable, tenured team and a strong reputation built over decades of serving customers throughout the Midwest. This is a growth opportunity with a clear path to a management role.

The Role

We're looking for a Purchasing Lead who is ready to grow into a Purchasing Manager position within the next 12-18 months (potentially sooner). You'll train alongside the current purchasing lead to learn the ins and outs of the business, then step into a leadership role overseeing a small purchasing team.

What You'll Do

• Manage purchasing of finished goods (primary) and occasionally raw materials
• Coordinate inventory across receiving/stocking quantities and outbound selling quantities
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and manufacturing partners
• Collaborate closely with Customer Service and Sales teams
• Learn the full scope of procurement operations with the goal of leading a small team (2-3 people) as Purchasing Manager

What We're Looking For

• Background in industrial buying, packaging buying, or materials procurement (preferred)
• Strong candidates from an operations background with the ability to learn quickly are also encouraged to apply
• Excellent office etiquette and professional communication skills
• Comfortable in a steady-paced, non-chaotic environment - this is not a high-pressure, fast-turnaround role
• Ready to take direct, candid feedback and grow into a leadership position over time
