Details Neuro ICU setting caring for ICU and IMC patient populations Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 1900-0730 Also accepts 4x12 schedules or Fri-Sun block schedules Every other weekend rotation with some holidays required Floating required as needed Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active WI or compact RN license Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only) Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in specialty being submitted for Prior ICU experience required, neurosurgery experience preferred Must have hands-on experience with craniotomy and EVD (external ventricular drain) management Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred Prior travel nursing experience required Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting the assignment Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to neuro ICU and surgical ICU patients including post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care Manage complex neurological conditions including CVA/acute stroke, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury Skilled care includes ventilator management, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips Experience with hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun and ICP monitoring preferred Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked as the top hospital in Wisconsin Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted Holiday coverage required for select holidays Telemetry exam requires two attempts to pass; a third attempt requires submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate American Traveler Job ID P-762528.
