JOB SUMMARY: The Sales Manager - Group Sales is responsible for proactively generating, developing, and converting group business opportunities to achieve sales targets for Wai Kai. This role is primarily focused on the local educational, sports, non-profit organizations and the local social events market. The Sales Manager will own the entire sales cycle of their assigned market from prospecting, booking, planning to execution, and will collaborate closely with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of group experiences that align with the brand's service standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales Generation & Revenue Growth Actively prospect, qualify, and solicit new group sales opportunities through outbound outreach, networking, referrals, and industry engagement. Achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly group sales revenue goals. Manage the sales process from inquiry to contract, including proposals, site tours, negotiations, and closing. Monitor market trends and adjust sales strategies to remain competitive and relevant. Client Relationship Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients. Conduct follow-up and maintain consistent communication to nurture leads and ensure repeat business. Serve as a brand ambassador at select networking events and community functions. Sales Planning & Reporting Maintain an active and organized sales pipeline. Prepare and submit accurate weekly reports detailing prospecting activity, bookings, and pending business. Provide sales forecasts and track key performance indicators (KPIs). Collaboration & Event Coordination Work closely with the other departments to ensure flawless group event execution. Communicate client needs and event logistics in a clear and timely manner to internal stakeholders. Foster an effective working relationship with all internal departments to deliver exceptional group experience, and to continually improve the process and experience. Administrative Support & Team Engagement Attend team meetings, training sessions, and departmental check-ins. Stay informed about all property offerings, policies, and procedures. Support cross-functional team efforts as needed to elevate guest experience. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in the hospitality or local business industry. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience cultivating business and relationships with Hawaii’s educational, sports, non-profit organizations and the local social events market. Familiarity with the Hawaii market and local business community. Knowledge of group booking platforms or event planning software.
