The Work You Will Do: Highway Maintenance Technician II / Tampa Operations Center This position will be responsible for maintaining our state roadway system. Where You Will Work: Florida Department of Transportation Tampa Operations Center Tampa, FL 33619 Your Specific Responsibilities: Upon receipt of the required CDL Instructional permit or license; Operates a variety of vehicles and mechanized equipment to include backhoe, tractors with attachments, crew cabs, and dump truck. Performs pre-trip inspection/minor maintenance on vehicles/equipment that they are operating. Cleans and washes equipment. Uses a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools to maintain bridges and roadways. Performs independent manual labor incidental to job assignments at an intermediate level of complexity with minimal supervision. Performs rough carpentry, masonry, painting and/or assist in the assembly and erection of highway signs. Performs Temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic).
