Controller

Quince & Co. is seeking an experienced and highly organized Controller to oversee the financial operations of our growing hospitality group, including Quince, Cotogna, Verjus, Officina, and Tusk Events. This role is responsible for leading the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions while partnering closely with ownership and operational leadership to support strategic decision-making and continued growth. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, operationally minded, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment. Hospitality experience is strongly preferred, particularly within restaurant, events, or multi-unit operations. This is an onsite role, located at our office in San Francisco. Key Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations across multiple business entities and concepts Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Prepare and review financial statements, reporting packages, and cash flow forecasts Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Maintain and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and operational procedures Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and reconciliations Partner with department leaders to analyze labor, food cost, beverage cost, and operational performance Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax requirements Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, banking partners, and vendors Support ownership and executive leadership with financial analysis and strategic reporting Assist with licensing, insurance, and regulatory compliance as needed Mentor and manage accounting team members while helping build scalable systems for future growth Qualifications 5+ years of accounting or finance leadership experience, preferably in hospitality or restaurant operations Strong understanding of multi-entity accounting and hospitality financial structures Experience with restaurant accounting systems and POS integrations preferred Proficiency in QuickBooks, Restaurant365 (R365), Excel, and related financial systems Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills and a collaborative management style Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred CPA designation is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Medical, dental, and vision benefits 401(k) eligibility Dining discounts across Quince & Co. concepts Opportunities for growth within a dynamic and evolving hospitality group Quince & Co. is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and professional workplace.
