Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary care to patients across all age groups in both inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for assessing, treating, monitoring, and educating patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions while performing a variety of invasive and non-invasive respiratory procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess strong critical care experience, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Respiratory Care

• Assess patient respiratory status and monitor responses to therapeutic interventions.
• Develop and implement respiratory care plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Recommend appropriate respiratory treatments and modifications based on patient outcomes.
• Provide respiratory care services to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient populations.

Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures

• Perform invasive and non-invasive respiratory therapy procedures.
• Administer respiratory treatments, oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and airway management interventions.
• Assist with cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and monitoring.
• Support mechanical ventilation management and respiratory support therapies.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and critical patient situations.

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the medical record.
• Communicate patient status and treatment recommendations to physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Participate in care planning and patient management discussions.
• Ensure compliance with departmental, regulatory, and patient safety standards.

Patient & Family Education

• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory conditions, treatment plans, equipment use, and home care management.
• Provide instruction on disease prevention, wellness initiatives, and respiratory health maintenance.

Leadership & Professional Development

• Serve as a resource for respiratory therapy students and newly oriented staff.
• Participate in departmental meetings, competency assessments, and continuing education programs.
• Assist with charge therapist or team leader responsibilities when assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.

Licensure & Certifications

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Active State Respiratory Care License.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.

Experience

• Strong critical care knowledge and experience in cardiopulmonary disease management.
• Ability to perform invasive and non-invasive respiratory therapy procedures.
• Excellent patient assessment, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) to three (3) years of Respiratory Therapy experience.
• NICU experience preferred.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification preferred.
• Membership with the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) preferred.
