Meat Manager

We’re looking for a Meat Manager with strong retail grocery experience who is passionate about great service, fresh foods, and leading a high‑performing team. Main Responsibilities Lead daily operations of the Meat Department, ensuring high standards for product quality, freshness, cutting, merchandising, and food safety. Supervise, train, and coach a team of Meat Cutters, Butchers, and Meat Clerks to deliver outstanding customer service. Achieve department goals in sales, gross profit, labor, shrink, and inventory accuracy. Perform hands‑on meat cutting, trimming, wrapping, and stocking as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies, HACCP standards, and all food safety and sanitation requirements. Build strong customer relationships by delivering friendly, knowledgeable assistance at the service counter. Manage scheduling, task delegation, and staffing for a team of 2–20 associates. Use store systems to manage ordering, production planning, and reporting. Serve as Manager‑on‑Duty when assigned. Requirements Strong leadership, communication, customer service skills, and the ability to motivate teams, solve problems, and maintain a positive, professional presence. Experience in retail meat or grocery department management with the ability to multitask, manage priorities, and oversee merchandising, inventory, and production planning. Ability to work in cold environments, lift and handle products, perform repetitive tasks, and effectively lead a team. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old. May require occasional travel for training. Ability to work a full‑time retail schedule including weekends, willingness to relocate if needed, and commitment to food safety and compliance.
