Physician Psychiatry - Competitive Salary

Job Description

We are seeking a part-time Psychiatrist Medical Director for a role at a hospital inpatient psychiatric unit in Indiana. 

Time Commitment

\n
• Up to 6–8 hours per week
\n
• Minimum one onsite visit per month
\n
• Required facility visit before program opening to meet the team and tour the site.
\n

Scope of Role

\n
• Occasional consultation on complex clinical cases when needed
\n
• Primarily non-patient care/administrative responsibilities
\n

Responsibilities

\n
• Participation in administrative meetings and leadership calls
\n
• Oversight of clinical policies, procedures, and protocols
\n
• Review and approval of clinical guidelines, standing orders, and workflows
\n
• Quality assurance and performance improvement activities
\n
• Regulatory and accreditation compliance support
\n
• Consultation with clinical staff on complex or escalated cases
\n
• Participation in peer review and chart review processes
\n
• Support for clinical operations, risk management, and best practices
\n

The Medical Director is expected to:

\n
• Be available for questions, reviews, and quality oversight of provider work.
\n
• Perform random chart audits and quality reviews, including medication management oversight.
\n
• Assist with psychiatric medication policies and formulary decisions.
\n
• Support collaborating NPs when required under Indiana regulations.
\n
