About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to join their senior leadership team. The CDO will be responsible for leading the organization's philanthropic efforts, grants management, public relations, and strategic partnerships. This executive role involves developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to diversify revenue, enhance visibility and reputation, and secure resources that support access to high-quality, culturally responsive healthcare. The successful candidate will be tasked with setting and monitoring revenue goals, leading the full development and grants lifecycle, and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders, including donors, foundations, and government agencies. The CDO will also oversee the organization's public relations and external communications strategy, ensuring consistent brand voice and mission-focused storytelling. Applicants for the CDO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in a relevant field and a minimum of 7 years' experience in development, fundraising, grants management, or related work, with a strong preference for those with FQHC or community health experience. The role requires a proven track record in securing and managing a diversified portfolio of funding, including federal and foundation grants, corporate support, and major gifts. Experience with the complete grants lifecycle and a deep understanding of HRSA/BPHC Health Center Program funding is highly valued. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills, and be proficient in Microsoft 365 and development/grants technology. The CDO will be expected to work full-time, with some local and regional travel, and to be flexible in their hours to accommodate the organization's needs.
