Specialist, CTU Engineer

Merck seeks a CTU Specialist to provide engineering support for controlled temperature units at its West Point, Pennsylvania facility. This individual contributor role involves equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, compliance oversight, and reliability improvement within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day equipment engineering support and troubleshooting for CTUs across the site
Lead and facilitate maintenance activities including LOTO execution and preventive maintenance planning
Maintain accurate CMMS/EAM data and develop reliability metrics for assigned equipment
Conduct root cause analysis, investigate manufacturing atypical events, and identify improvement opportunities
Develop technical documentation including SOPs, qualification plans, and maintenance strategies for equipment

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or four-year engineering technology program
Minimum two years experience with equipment troubleshooting and maintenance data management
Demonstrated proficiency in lock-out tag-out (LOTO) execution and work facilitation
Knowledge of engineering standards such as ASME, IEEE, NFPA, CFR 1910, NIST, or ANSI
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork capabilities
Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems and general computer skills
Preferred: cGMP knowledge, CTU maintenance experience, Lean Six Sigma, or CMRP certification
