Project Manager (Water/Wastewater)

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Water/Wastewater) to lead the successful delivery of infrastructure, treatment, and network projects from concept through to completion. This role will suit a technically minded and commercially aware professional with a strong background in water or wastewater construction, engineering, utilities, or related infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.


Key responsibilities will include managing project scope, programmes, budgets, procurement, contracts, risks, and resources; coordinating design, construction, commissioning, and handover activities; and maintaining effective communication with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and internal stakeholders. You will lead project meetings, monitor progress and performance, manage change control, resolve issues, and provide accurate reports and forecasts. A strong focus on health, safety, environmental compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement will be essential. You will also support tendering, cost planning, project governance, and the development of effective delivery strategies.


Applicants should have proven project management experience within the water, wastewater, utilities, civil engineering, or infrastructure sectors, together with a relevant degree, technical qualification, or equivalent professional experience. Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and complex stakeholder relationships is required, along with a sound understanding of construction methods, contract administration, risk management, and project controls. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and health and safety legislation would be advantageous. Strong organisational, negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional accreditation or formal project management training is desirable. A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites may also be required.
