Purchasing Assistant

Smoker Craft, Inc currently has an opening for Purchasing Assistant ! This position works from our office in New Paris, IN. This is NOT a remote position.

We are looking for an organized and dependable Purchasing Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support to our procurement team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with data and documents, and eager to learn the fundamentals of purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Most of the day-to-day work will be office-based and administrative in nature, with some involvement in routine buying tasks as experience grows.

Job Duties :

• Assist with filing, scanning, copying, and document management.
• Match purchase orders to invoices and packing slips; flag and help resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain purchasing records-both digital and physical.
• Review and evaluate service orders to determine the most appropriate fulfilment method.
• Track open service orders to ensure timely resolution.
• Enter and update purchase orders as needed.

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, works independently, displays initiative and solves problems with proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Schedule:

Monday-Friday

6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch

(Start time may be flexible, with a 7:00 AM start option)
