Accounting Manager / Senior Bookkeeper — QuickBooks Expert

Affordable Movers is seeking a highly experienced  Accounting Manager / Senior Bookkeeper to oversee and manage the company’s day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping operations. This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and extremely strong in QuickBooks.

This is not a CFO position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the company books, maintain accurate financial records, organize accounting processes, and provide clear financial updates to ownership.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and experience with bookkeeping, QuickBooks, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll-related tracking, expense tracking, financial reporting, and overall accounting organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain company books using QuickBooks
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Complete bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Track expenses, deposits, payments, invoices, and vendor activity
• Assist with payroll-related accounting and financial tracking
• Prepare financial reports for ownership review
• Maintain organized records for tax, compliance, and reporting purposes
• Review financial data for errors, missing information, or discrepancies
• Ensure QuickBooks records are accurate, updated, and properly maintained
• Help improve internal accounting processes and financial organization
• Communicate directly with ownership regarding financial updates, reports, and concerns
• Support general accounting needs as the company continues to grow

Requirements:

• Strong QuickBooks experience required
• Prior bookkeeping, accounting, or accounting management experience required
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, payroll tracking, expense tracking, and financial reporting
• Must be able to maintain accurate books and identify discrepancies
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate
• Must be able to work independently and take ownership of accounting responsibilities
• Strong communication skills required
• Must be trustworthy and comfortable handling confidential financial information
• Must be able to provide clear and organized financial updates to ownership

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA, APA, payroll certification, or other accounting certification preferred, but not required
• Accounting degree preferred
• Experience working with small businesses, logistics, transportation, moving companies, or service-based businesses is a plus
• Experience cleaning up books or improving accounting processes is a plus
• Experience supporting payroll, vendor management, or tax preparation is a plus

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is someone who understands accounting beyond basic data entry. We need someone who can manage the books, catch errors, keep QuickBooks accurate, produce reliable reports, and help ownership stay organized financially.

This person should be dependable, professional, discreet, and confident in handling accounting responsibilities with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone who can bring structure, accuracy, and consistency to the company’s accounting process.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person preferred. Hybrid flexibility may be considered for the right candidate after training and once accounting systems are properly organized.
