About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Days, Every Other Weekend Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - Ability to read basic telemetry strips - Experience with CVA and TIA - Experience with total joint replacement - Cerner experience recommended Description: Unit notes require prescreening and manager review. Clinicians must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to contract signing. If a clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, they will be deferred for 6 months. Candidates must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule. Candidates may not be employed full time, part time, or PRN with any associated facilities within the past year. The unit is telemetry with 49 beds and a ratio of 1:5. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. Common diagnosis and types of patients include CHF, COVID, respiratory issues, GI concerns, diabetics, post-catheterization, and total joint replacements. RNs are required to interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift. Charge nurses and house supervisors are present on the unit. Nurse aides are also available with a ratio of 1:10-15. Equipment used includes BiPAP, CPAP, and breathing treatments. Shifts are scheduled for 7 AM to 7 PM, with self-scheduling used but finalized by management. Weekend requirements include working 2 weekends per 4-week schedule. Holiday requirements involve working 2 days and an evening or 2 evenings and a day during major holidays. There may be floating to other areas if qualified. The dress code is navy blue scrubs. Charting is done via Cerner. This position does not require a BSN. The trauma level is acute.
