The successful candidate will have access to structured mentorship from experienced clinician‑investigators, including guidance in study design, grant development, manuscript preparation, and career planning. Institutional support for research funding, including participation in investigator‑initiated studies, and assistance with external grant applications is available. Protected research time is offered and individualized based on prior research training, experience, and publication record, with flexibility to expand as scholarly productivity grows. The department actively supports career advancement through academic promotion, leadership development, and increasing research responsibility over time. Rheumatology at Ochsner Health Ochsner Rheumatology is committed to providing high‑quality, innovative care to patients with inflammatory rheumatic disease, in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Teaching and research are integral to the department, which sponsors a rheumatology fellowship program and a clinical research program. The department is based at Ochsner Medical Center with seven staff rheumatologists and four fellows. Internal Medicine residents and students from the University of Queensland – Ochsner Clinical School rotate through the clinics. The department is actively involved in multicenter trials and investigator‑initiated research, and collaborates with nephrology, pulmonary, cardiology, and dermatology departments.
