Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 3-5 years in high acuity & high pace environment License: Compact license required Certifications: - BLS - NRP - Preferred: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate Must-Have: - Current supervisory references - Proof of required certifications - Pass clinical review - 3-5 years of high-risk experience - Experience with electronic fetal monitoring Description: Candidates must have experience working in a high-risk, high-volume labor and delivery setting. They will be expected to function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and provide care for the newborn until transfer to postpartum. Candidates must be proficient in circulating and providing newborn care, including assessments and administering eye drops and Vitamin K injections. The average daily census is 15 patients with approximately 500-600 deliveries per month. There are 31 beds available in the unit with 4 operating rooms. Staff will follow established guidelines to ensure safe patient care. All candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and are required to float to associated facilities as needed. Experience with high-risk deliveries and managing antepartum and postpartum patients is essential. The position requires candidates to work every other weekend and be available for holiday shifts as needed. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must have references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years. Modules for additional training are completed prior to starting and annually thereafter. Experience with the specific electronic charting system is required.
