Custodian

Summary We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our team at Locust Grove Middle. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas. Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with safety and environmental regulations. Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Assist with setting up and breaking down furniture and equipment for school events and activities. Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed. Follow established procedures for cleaning and sanitizing to ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the facility. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, as well as safety procedures. Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as perform physical tasks for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed. A valid driver's license may be required for transportation of supplies or equipment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
