Industrial Electrician – 2nd Shift

Location: Painesville, OH

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

Complete Staffing is partnering with a leading industrial organization to identify an experienced Industrial Electrician to join their maintenance team. This position will be responsible for electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and installation of electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with 3-phase electrical systems, motor controls, industrial power distribution, and electrical troubleshooting. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and preventative maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on low- and high-voltage electrical systems and industrial equipment.
• Diagnose electrical issues and help maintain equipment uptime and reliability.
• Install, modify, and support electrical systems and equipment as needed.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic.
• Troubleshoot and maintain 3-phase electrical systems and motor controls, including MCCs, power distribution systems, PLCs, and soft starts.
• Complete electrical inspections, preventive maintenance, work orders, timecards, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Utilize computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS) to plan, document, and close out assigned work.
• Work closely with operations, maintenance personnel, contractors, and vendors to diagnose issues and complete repairs.
• Identify, source, and maintain appropriate parts and materials needed for electrical repairs and maintenance.
• Assist with mechanical maintenance and routine equipment upkeep as needed, including cleaning, inspection, and lubrication.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures when working around energized equipment, machinery, and other industrial hazards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
• Assist with training and coaching team members on safe electrical work practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe electrical work practices.
• Experience performing electrical maintenance in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, mining, or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and maintenance practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain 3-phase electrical systems and motor controls , including 480V and 4160V systems.
• Experience with:
• Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
• Industrial power distribution and feeder circuits
• Ground monitoring systems
• Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
• Soft starters
• Electrical schematics and ladder logic
• Electrical calculations for new installations, including wire sizing and motor horsepower
• Ability to work independently, prioritize maintenance needs, and respond effectively to equipment issues.
• Ability to work safely in challenging industrial environments and around energized equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of industrial electrical experience.
• MSHA certification or previous experience working in a mining environment.
• Experience with CMMS or computerized maintenance management systems.
• Experience working with high-voltage industrial electrical systems.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This position is performed in a heavy industrial environment and may require working in both indoor and outdoor conditions.

The successful candidate must be comfortable with:

• Working in varying temperatures, humidity, noise, dust, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Working in areas where visibility may be limited and supplemental lighting may be required.
• Navigating uneven, slick, or changing walking surfaces.
• Working around heavy machinery, energized electrical equipment, power cables, and other industrial hazards.
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout the workday.
• Extended periods of seated equipment operation and exposure to whole-body vibration.
• Working at heights while using appropriate fall-protection equipment.
• Climbing ladders and accessing elevated or difficult-to-reach work areas.
• Operating various hand and foot controls.
• Shoveling, cleaning, and removing material or equipment spillage.
• Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 65 pounds .
• Performing work in confined, restricted, or difficult-to-access areas when necessary.
