Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required; nurse-to-patient ratio 1:5-6

Highlights:

• Specialized orthopedic and neuro trauma unit caring for patients with severe bone, joint, soft tissue injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and spine injuries
• Epic documentation system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Comprehensive 28-hour orientation (12 hours unit-specific, 16 hours organizational)
• Floating to similar inpatient units as needed; may be assigned to storm/hurricane team response
• Advanced skill development including heparin drips, chest tubes, central line management, PICC lines, and complex wound care
• Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and lift teams

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience within the last 5 years
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in heparin drips, PCA, colostomy care, feeding tube management, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, IV starts, dysrhythmia management, oxygen protocol management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, traumatic brain injury care, orthopedic trauma, surgical drains, chest tubes, tracheostomy management, and wound care
• Comfortable working with 1:5-6 patient ratios
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted
